CNN IBN to launch Telugu TV Channel
Monday, August 18, 2008
PV: Andhra Jyothi MD Mr. Radha Krishna is in deep trouble now. He has entered into an agreement with CNN IBN for launching a Telugu channel but had to pay more than 50 percent for his 50 percent share. Apart from losing money, there are numerous problems with his own staff. Some of them are willing to move to the channel with a view to get more salary while he wanted some of them to stay put with the newspaper. The unhappiness among the staff grew when an ex employee of the newspaper ( now in a leading channel ) was invited with a salary more than 1 lakh. Though there is no indication of acceptance of the offer, the print seniors are worried about working under him and the thought itself caused resentment among the staff. Now Mr. RK is unable to solve the problem of recruitments. On the otherhand, Mr. Sekhar Reddy and Mr. Ramarao at NEW TV haveprepared a list of probable staff to be poached from Andhra Jyothi and are said to be waiting for the final nod of their boss Mr. IVR...
My-telugu.com breaks the news: Chiru announced his party
Sunday, August 17, 2008
PV: Chiranjeevi pulled crowds to his party office stating that there would be party announcement. But he didn't announce completely and only given a pilot appearance. He declared that everything will be declared only on 26th of August. Let us see what he announced today. This is an unforgettable day in my life. This day is turning my life from film industry to political field. This day is the day of destiny that is gifted by God to take oath for service to society. This day is a great boon for me which garlands only a few. I lead a very peaceful life as an actor for the last 30 years. And now I'm stepping into the field where I cannot act but only live. I live for people and with people. I got a very big push from all corners of society. I met many scholars before taking decision. I had a very long discussion with APJ Abdul Kalam who inspired me a lot. He said that many students in India are showing interest to become doctors, engineers, astronauts and scientists but not politicians. The image of a politician in India is very bad. That should be changed. And here I'm there to bring that change. And I salute Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao or inspiring me a lot as a leader from cine industry. I ardently salute Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar and Phule who have dedicated their lives from better Indian society. I announce my party name, flag and agenda on 26th of August"
Analysis: Chiru and NTR
Saturday, August 16, 2008
PV: When NTR launched the Telugu Desam in 1982, the top Kammas in the State have rallied round together. The big families from business, industry, media, film and every field, the Kammas stood firm behind NTR all through the campaign. Those in Congress, including Nadendla Bhaskara Rao, teamed up with NTR to fight the dominating Reddy group in politics and they succeeded. But, this time, when Chiranjeevi is launching the party, the situation appears to be different. Not many of the Kapus – prominent ones – have come out in open to support the Megastar. Neither the Megastar is interested in associating himself with the Kapus.
