Ramcharan Chirutha hitting this month Wednesday, September 5, 2007 | PV
The release of Ramcharan Teja’s film Chiruta this month looks doubtful, as per the talk of the trade circles. Even ten days after the release of the audio, no trailer or promo saw the limelight. Though a few designs are making rounds in the press, a full-fledged campaign is yet to start. Two dates are in the air. September 22, when Chiranjeevi’s Pranam Khareedu released; and September 27 as per general muhurtam. However, there is no word from Chiranjeevi in this regard, it is said. Everyone knows that Chiranjeevi personally supervised the launch of his son, his shooting schedules at Bangkok and dance rehearsals in particular. In these conditions, Chiruta’s release seems to get dragged till next month first week. Both Ashwini Dutt and Puri Jagannath are said to have left the publicity factor to the hero’s dad.

Cooperation key to solving Hyderabad blasts case: Mukherjee Tuesday, September 4, 2007 | MP
New Delhi, Sept.4 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday said that cooperation is the key to tracking down the terror group that was behind the August 25 twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad. The blasts claimed the lives of over 40 people and wounded about 80 others. The incident took place over three months after 11 people were killed in a bomb explosion inside the historic Mecca Masjid.Four persons were arrested on September 2 in connection with the Masjid bombing in May, with officials saying the same group could also be involved in August's twin bombings in the same city. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) also arrested a "Bangladeshi" woman, Shahi Lajajani for staying illegally in India.Police suspect her brother Rizvan, also staying illegally in India for last six years, as being involved in the twin blasts.Mukherjee said the government was willing to offer all information to the investigation, since cooperation was imperative at this point."You know, during a meeting of the Home Secretaries at the Ministry, we suggested to them… we have given some particulars as we normally give to them about those who are indulging in all sorts of activities like insurgency and other terrorist activities and we seek their cooperation," Mukherjee told reporters at an Editors' Conference in the national capital.Authorities suspect Islamist militant groups based in Pakistan and Bangladesh are behind the attacks. Both Islamabad and Dhaka have rejected the idea, saying Indian officials are jumping to conclusions.Police said the main suspect was Shahid Bilal of Harkat-ul Jihad Islami (HuJI), a Bangladesh group originally set up during Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Terror cell behind Hyderabad twin blasts also planned to attack World Military Games Monday, September 3, 2007 | MP
Hyderabad, Sep 2 (ANI): The four people arrested in connection with the August 25 twin blasts at Hyderabad belong to a terror cell, which was planning to carry out more attacks in the city, including the main venue of the World Military Games. The group members, linked with the Bangladesh terror outfit HUJI, had visited the Gachi Bowli stadium, where the Military Games are scheduled to be held between October 14 to October 21, to plan their attack. The revelations came after Hyderabad police claimed of busting the terror module acting on the leads given by a narco-analysis test of Nayeem alias Sameer, who was apprehended in connection with the Mecca Masjid blast, that killed nine people in May this year.During the test, Nayeem told investigating officers that 10 kilograms of RDX was smuggled into Hyderabad to carry out a series of attack. However, only 800 grams of the explosive was used in the Masjid blast and during the August 25 twin blasts there were hardly any traces of RDX used, as the explosive consisted of an explosive Neo gel.Police is now trying to locate the remaining RDX, which may have been planned for a 'bigger attack'.With the arrest of three more persons- Shoaib Jagirdar from Maharashtra and Kaleem and Imran from Hyderabad, the police have beefed the security of Hitec City, and offices of software giants, which were also in the terror group's target. With less than fifty days left for the beginning of the Fourth World Military Games to be held in the twin city of Hyderabad- Secunderabad, security preparedness is being reviewed. The Defence Ministry will hold a crucial meeting this week to review the security preparedness for the games as both the Indian Government and the International Military Sports Council (CISM) have said that there is no change in the schedule for holding the games."We are constantly reviewing the security situation", Defence Minister A K Antony said when asked about the security preparedness for the games.A special security team is being planned to 'sanitise' and make every stadium secure for the games, where 4500 athletes belonging to 100 countries are expected to participate in 13 disciplines. Besides police and paramilitary forces that will be deployed during the Games, the Army will also be putting its own man to provide a vital security cordon. (ANI
