Farmers have already suffered much crop loss in the floods and don't have money to desilt the lands. A farmer has to spend at least Rs 3,000 per acre to desilt the land. Flood water from Mun-neru, Wyra, Buggavagu and Vesyakanthalavagu ri-vulets brought lot of sand and silt to the fields. In Bayyaram mandal, waters entered fields after the 700-year-old Peda-cheruvu developed a bre-ach, probably for the first time. The flood destroyed crop in 6,000 acres. Mr K. Cast :Mahesh Babu, Trisha, Sonu Sood, Prakash Raj, Bramhanandam, Sunil and others Photography : Guhan Music : Mani Sharma Action : Peter Hynes Story, Screenplay, Dialouges, Direction : Trivikram Srinivas Production : D. Kishore, Jayabheri Productions. > Story : Nandu (Mahesh) is a professional killer. He is once hired by a minister to make an fake attempt on his own life, so that he could win sympathy votes. Unfortunately, during the rally the minister is shot dead by some one else, and the police force falls behind Nandu. He escapes and gets onto a train where he meets a stranger Pardu (Rajiv Kanakala) who is going back to his home 12 years later. The police, who are still behind him, kill Pardu by mistake. Nandu now steps into Pardu’s shoes and goes to his village, where one and all receive him well. In filmi style, Pardu has a typical telugu niece Puri (Trisha) who falls head over heels in love with her baava. This family, love and affection changes Mahesh into a total new man. He is worried about his future, on how he should prove himself as innocent in the murder case, come out of his profession forms the remaining screenplay. > Analysis : The movie runs through the first half without dwelling much into the story. The second half is good, but always the climax needs to be a grand finale as it justifies the whole film and the patience level of the audience is lower towards the end. But Athadu’s climax is so-so. The movie has action, love and family drama in equal portions, without being branded as a single genre. The lead pair Mahesh and Trisha and the music are the film’s selling factors. The movie started off with a positive talk and has it all, to make it a good commercial success, which Mahesh needs now.

"Aparichitudu" pamphlets cautions the public Friday, September 23, 2005 | Pavan
Films and film personalities have always influenced the masses. This was again proved in Anakapalli near Visakhapatnam. People of this jaggery town were initially surprised to see pamphlets of Aparichitudu, (a hit Telugu film that talks about the importance of people being aware of their responsibilities) being distributed by a man who was dressed like the film’s hero. The pamphlets cautioned the public that they would be punished with Andhakupam (The person is pushed into a dark cave where buffalos and cows trample him), Krimi bhojanam or Kumbheepakam, if they accept gifts from a political party in lieu of the municipal elections. The idea struck 30-year-old K. Srinivas, who wanted to create an awareness among the masses regarding their responsibility to cast their vote. “Don’t give fake votes, do not accept money from any political party, and don’t accept gifts like sarees and other things. Don’t get carried away by liquor. Voting rights are given to us by the constitution. Therefore choose the right candidate. If you fail to do so, I will punish you,” is what this Aparichitudu look-alike says to the public

Meanwhile, Jagadish Alag Raja, a promoter of Vasishta Wahan, has reportedly returned Rs 5 crore to the CBI through a business associate. He has promised to pay back the rest of the amount too. Somayajulu, advisor to the State government on economic affairs and programme implementation. “But the point is that we do not have any information from the CBI authorities whether they have got Rs 5 crore from Vasishta Wahan.” Mr Somayajulu said it was surprising that the CBI had chosen to leak the information to the media, instead of telling the government
