Indian students condemn Aus racist attack
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Indian students in Australia staged a massive rally expressing their solidarity against the recent attacks targetted on their community.
The rally started off from the hospital where Shravan Kumar, the attack victim hailing from Andhra Pradesh was undergoing critical treatment after being stabbed by a screw driver. Thousands of students marched to the Parliament House to voice their protest against the shocking attacks and expressed their concerns shouting slogans against the authorities.
The peace rally organised by the Federation of Indian Students of Australia said that it was intended to create awareness about an increasing number of hate crimes within the state and to promote racial harmony and peace. --MP
