Hybad picks Symonds for $1.35 mn

Hyderabad one of the 8 franchises of Indian Premium League, has won the second highest bid of the IPL's auction which was held in Mumbai on Wedneday. Hyderabad franchise owned by Deccan Chronicle has won the most exciting bid for an international player. The team won the Australian all rounder Andrew Symmonds for a whopping $1.35 Million. Hyderabad also won the Australian player and wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist who was picked for $700,000. Other overseas players being picked by the team are Shahid Afridi of Pakistan for $675,000, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa for $575,000, Scott Styris of New Zealand for $171,000, Sri Lankan player Chamara Silva for $100,000. Hyderabad player V.V.S. Laxman was purchased by the team for $375,000. --MP
